My journey to get a 2nd Bachelors degree
I had already got my Bachelors in Applied Management but my career took me down a different path in Information Technology and I realized that was my passion. I needed to show that I knew what I had been working with for many years.

Starting in IT
I began working for Columbia Valley Family Farms doing various things with various responsibilities but the one I enjoyed most was taking care of the IT. I really got my start when we had to implement an ERP system and that required an overhaul of our infrastructure.

Cutting my teeth
I was tasked with researching and implementing an ERP system for our company. Once one was chosen we had to put in place a server and firewall in our main location as well as a secondary server and firewall at our processing facility. This project taught me a lot about IT and where I feel like I truly began understanding what it was all about.

Getting my degree
I began this step several years earlier with a desire to learn more about IT but have something I could say I 'achieved' during the process. I had already had my Bachelors in Applied Management from CBC in 2015 but realized IT was the career path for me and set out to get another degree. I graduated from WGU in 2019 with a Bachelors in Information Technology and got a number of certifications along the way.

New job
I applied for and got hired on as a Network Administrator with Inline Computer & Communications. My primary responsibility was to audit our clients networks and create a report of where technologies or processes were out of line with our standards and industry best practices. I also worked on projects as well.
