How I became a real estate investor
It just makes sense.... why let your money sit in a bank for some rainy day when you can make it work for you? Well, the truth of the matter is you work for it as well. But its very rewarding and frustrating and, hopefully in the future, freeing. I decided to jump in with both feet after reading this quote... "Do something today your future self will thank you for". Researching
I had been interested in owning a rental property for some time. I had family members, older friends, mentors, and lots of people I saw online who had rental properties. For them it was a place to have money work for them. It was extra income, it was something to work for and work towards. I started by seeing their example and then doing my own research. BiggerPockets.com was a big part of that. I listened to their podcasts, watched their videos, read their blogs, lurked their forums. I was excited. Problem was..... I had no money. But that didn't stop me from preparing myself for when I did have enough to put down a house. So I kept learning

2nd home purchased
Bought our second house and are working on getting things fixed up before we get a renter in place. This one is in Delphi. Its a pretty small 2 bed 1 bath.

My wife and I bought a Duplex in Richland for ourselves and began fixing it up. We are planning on moving in once its done.

Business trip to Indiana to see the properties
We traveled back to Indiana to view the properties and take a look at some potential new properties.

Third house purchased
After our trip to Indiana and viewing several properties we were able to make an offer and close on one of them. Its a 1 bed 1 bath located in Lafayette, IN.

Moved into Duplex
We moved in. Just in time too.. Our son was born about a week later. Talk about cutting it close. Now to get the place rented out
